Sorry its been a while since i updated this page, things have been a little crazy around her for me. Here are some photos and when I get a few Xtra min then ill will add more. there is a lot of info for me to add just haven't had much time. will try and get it soon.

Dad was having a bad morning and his puppy was trying to cheer him up with puppy love and kisses

Dads new therapy  He was getting tired of sitting around watching movies. he wanted something new to do. so mom got him a model car, a pontiac :D grand am that he painted metallic blue. we hope this will help with his motor skills because he has to work his small ones.

poked prodded and punctured

dad got stuck a lot more then I did to day, He won. I only had 4 needles stuck in me but dang dad not only had to give blood but he had needles stuck in his neck and arm to check nerves. Then he was also shocked to check them. None of them were very fun. He does have some nerve damage but the doc thinks it can come back. He suggests dad gets a massage to help some of it. he wants dad to keep working it but not over working it. They are still having some problems with work mans comp. There is a glitch in the communication with the pharmacy so mom and dad are still having to pay for the drugs out of pocket. They are still saying dad had a heart attack and are still fighting it. Dad will have to go in on the 22 to testify of something he doesn't remember. His boss is also going to have to go and testify that dad was going from one job to another. still after all this it wont be settled till next year,( hopefully). dad is still in hopes to make it some how to his class reunion. we will have to wait and see and hope all goes well.

update

Dad is doing great. mom took him to see some docs and have some scans the other day. He got good news. He no longer has to take the nasty shot at night, and is down to testing only twice a day. the only time he needs a shot is if his sugar is over 200.  He was also cleared to travel from his doc, so he may be able to make it down for his class reunion that he has been wanting to go to. they have gotten quite a bit of snow off and on and then mixed it with rain. its been a bit cold back there but they have been able to stay warm thanks to some angles out there. They very much appreciate it and want the angles to know how much they love them.

the good the bad and the ugly

dad has lost another 2 pounds since i left on wed. he is missing me something terrible and didn't want me to go. but on a good note he saw his doc the other day and she said he no longer has to have a shot before each meal in less his sugar was over 150 which it never has been. so hes doing good. He still has to have the nasty yuck shot at night just not as much of it. he has gone from having 40 units of it down to 20, woohoo dad. He still has to get stuck in the finger though which sucks but isn't as bad as a shot in the gut. mom and dad are working on trying to keep all the phones on with miracle juice. their hoping to have things settled with workmans comp by the start of next year. it just isn't coming fast enough.  When i got home I had to see the special baby doc and hoped to get dad another 3d photo of his granddaughter but she didn't want to look, guess she was mad we left grandpa behind. we were how ever able to get one quick black and white shot of her face and send to him. she's been kicking hard ever since we left I guess she really didn't want to leave. It was nice being up there and spending time with dad even with his mood swings, and the heater going out for 2-3 days but we survived and had  lots of hot chocolate. Hope he keeps up the good work so that he can be able to come see his granddaughter when shes born.

Christmas mix

We had a little bit of christmas mixed in with our thanksgiving. moms been putting up christmas a little at a time while im here to help. dad also has a little tree by his bed where his stocking is also hanging.  its looking real festive around here

dad is still having some discomfort with the fluid on his left side. It isn't going any where no matter what he does. It hurts a lot from time to time, but we will be going to see his primary doctor tomorrow and maybe well be able to get a lot of things he needs taken care of. He went up stairs last night and tried sleeping in his own bed. He had a hard time getting to sleep but said he was a lot more comfortable being  in his own room in his own bed again. he is back down stairs right now taking little naps on and off. well see if he goes up to his bed again tonight. he has been working his left fingers a lot more and is able to wave with them. up and down. he is still have some problems with his thumb thought and has a lot of numbness in his right hand which has been causing him a lot of pain and  discomfort. We are hopping to get him in to see a necrologies and or a chiropractor to see it that will help it. I will be leaving wed :( it will  be hard to leave my dad mom cat and puppy but hopefully dad will work really hard to be able to come down and see his grand daughter when she is born.  He has really been enjoying all the emails he gets everyday and asks me several times if he's gotten new ones in yet. having my mac her has been easy on mom  and a lot of  fun because of being able to hook it to the t.v.  dads been enjoying movies and .v shows that he's missed. 

Thanksgiving

Dads thanksgiving dinner (always best at home and not in the hospital) we followed the K.I.S.S. rule and kept it simple s. It was really good and we sure have a lot to be thankful for.

LAST NIGHTS WILD ADVENTURE

LAST NIGHT DAD WENT FOR ANOTHER RIDE IN BIG RED TRUCK.  HIS LEFT SIDE JUST BELOW THE BREST AREA NEAR WHERE HIS HEART WOULD BE HIS BODY DECIDED TO BLOW UP LIKE A BALLOON. WE HAD CALLED THE DOC AND SHE SAID TO TAKE HIM INTO THE HOSPITAL. THEY HAD CHANGED A DOSE ON ONE OF HIS MEDS THAT DAY AND WE DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES. WE SPENT MOST OF THE NIGHT IN THE ER. WE DIDN'T GET HOME TILL ABOUT 4 AM, AFTER SITTING THERE LISTENING TO MOANING MYRDAL AND PLAYING WITH TOWELS AND TURNING THEM INTO TURKEYS AND MAKING DAD LAUGH.  THEY TOOK AN X RAY OF DADS CHEST ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS JUST SOME FLUIDS THAT BUILT UP IN THE MUSCLES/ SKIN BECAUSE HES NOT WORKING THAT SIDE AROUND AS MUCH AS HE USE TO AND IS STILL HEALING. SO NO WORRIES ALL IS GOOD AS FAR AS THAT GOES.

MONDAY WE WENT IN FOR A PRELIMINARY HARING ON THE CASE OF WORK MANS COMP. THE WORK MANS COMP GUY WAS NOT VERY PREPARED AND WAS SCATTER BRAINED THE JUDGE JUST KEPT ROLLING HER EYES. DADS ATTORNEY SAYS ITS IN DADS FAVOR AND THAT HE DOESN'T SEE IT GOING THE OTHER WAY. THEY JUST WANT TO DRAG IT ON AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. THEY HAVE 2 MORE HEARINGS IN DEC AND EVERYTHING SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OFF BY JAN. IN THE MEAN TIME MOM AND DAD ARE STRUGGLING. MOM WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE ANYONE ABOUT STATE MEDICAL HELP TILL DEC 4TH SO ALL DADS MEDS HAVE BEEN OUT OF POCKET AND THERE ISN'T MUCH LEFT IN THE POCKET BUT  LINT. THEY ARE TRYING TO GET HELP WERE EVERY THEY CAN BUT ITS ALL SLOW IN THE MAKING. THEY ARE KEEPING TRACK OF EVERYTHING COMING IN AND GOING OUT SO THEY CAN HAND WORK MANS COMP THE BILL ONCE THIS IS ALL OVER.  THIS SEAMS TO BE THE HARDEST THING RIGHT NOW.  OTHER THEN DAD STRUGGLING WITH EMOTIONS THAT SEEM TO COME OUT A LOT AT NIGHT. THEY LOVE YOU ALL AND APPRECIATE ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT AND BLESSINGS YOU HAVE SENT OVER THE WEEKS AND MONTHS. THEY LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM PEOPLE EVERY DAY. DAD ALSO LIKES TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE ON THE PHONE FROM TIME TO TIME HOW EVER HE CAN'T HOLD THE PHONE FOR TO LONG CAUSE HIS HAND AND ARM GET TIRED, AND THE PHONES COULD BE TURNED OF THIS WEEK. I THINK HIS EMAIL IS SAFE AT THE MOMENT SO EMAILS WILL STILL BE COMING HIS WAY. HE GETS TO READ THEM HIM SELF RIGHT OFF THE TV SCREEN AS I AM ABLE TO HOOK MY COMPUTER UP TO IT TO MAKE IT A LITTLE EASIER ON HIM.

Dad got a stake dinner for working so hard, and he cut it all by himself

dad passes out after a long hard walk around the house. he even made it up the stairs and down. he walked for 14 min's.  and his sugar has been down for the last few days, its been on the lower side since i got here. He is going a great job.

crazy crazy crazy

I made it wohoo, the trip was crazy we had turbulence on the plane not to bad till we hit lightning.  When I got off my luggage was taken by someone else thinking it was theirs. had some small little dumb problems on the train but the ride was ok. Dad could hardly wait for me to get there and i kept him updated as often as i could on the train.  he has been getting his work out since i've been here. we  have had the ot twice and the therapist. we spent a lot of time at the docs yesterday, saw 2 of them one right after the other. so dads been really tired and been working hard. when I finally got my luggage back 4 days later we watched a few movies I brought and he's been enjoying  them.  he walked around today played with clay and pin things and did the wax on and wax of on the table with his towel. He did some other had exercises and is getting better every time. his puppy has been doing very good even with all the people  in and out of the house, even thought she would love to play with them all. snickers is just as good and comes and checks on dad all the time. his sugar levels haven't been to bad and me who cant stand needles has given dad his shots at least 3 time and stuck his finger to check his levels. I wont do the nasty one thats moms job.  I hope to get some more photos and will try and keep you all updated while im here, just been a little crazy the last few days.

What a shocker

Dad got a work out today. he went to 2 docs about his arm his bones are fully healed now and they did some kind of shocking to it. I guess to check if the bionic arm is working right. Dads therapists also gave him a run around and wore his butt off. He is working hard so that he can be up and moving for when i get there. How ever I don't think Ill have him running around to much. I am bring him movies and my lab top so maybe well see if he cant type something in here to everyone when I get there. Just as a heads up I will probably not be posting anything tomorrow night as I will be spending the night in NJ. but will get back to you ask soon as i get in and settled with dad and mom, or who knows maybe they will be the one to be writing in here soon.

NO MORE BUTT

Dad worked his butt of today. he walked around the living room for  4 min. then his therapist guy had him sit on the bed and get himself up with no help, not from his arms or his cane just his legs. then he asked dad if he was up to trying the steps so dad tried and he did very well. he made it up 4 steps almost half way. there are 11 steps and they are very steep so he did an awesome job before he got tired even more so because all the work he did before. then his opt  came and worked his arm over a lot. He said it hurt but in a good way. When i talked to him he was really tired but wanted all to know how well he's working. He is doing great.

dad walked the living room with his opt today for 3 min. she gave him a work out today that wore his butt out. he is making good progress, and is doing everything she tells him because he doesn't get her for very long.  he was even able to go into his office today and sit down in fount of his computer for just a few min's, and help mom with a problem.

Hi Y'All!

Don is finally cat-napping so I wanted to print up his mail, and make some replies. You have been so wonderful for his morale. Waking up from a long sleep is an emotional and confusing ordeal. He looks forward to hearing from people now that all he has is me and the critters.  Thanks so much for being on our cheering squad!!!!  It is hard to be the nurse, dietitian,cook, housekeeping person, therapists, aide and butt wiper,laundress, pillow fluffer, back scratcher/massager, secretary, and remember to be the wife too! He has tried hard to be a good patient and remember his pleases and thank you's. Hardest of all is to poke him with needles, even if it is for his own good. He is still cleaning his plate, he has to since his portions have become smaller to help him lose more weight. I know if he keeps on the way he has, he will be much better in no time!

Keep writing and someday, Don may answer you himself!
